Ways to Give to the SFX School Foundation |
|
Pledges Via Cash, Check or Credit/Debit Card Simply complete your pledge card by selecting the amount of your pledge and your down payment. Make sure to select your method of payment (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payments). If you choose to make your down payment via check, please make it payable to St. Francis Xavier School – Foundation Campaign. If you would like to have your down payment and pledge payments billed to your credit or debit card, please fill out the corresponding section on your pledge card. We are currently accepting Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
Reminder statements and a special payment envelope will be sent to you in accordance with the payment plan you choose. For those choosing the automatic payment option via credit card, you will not receive reminder statements from the school unless requested.
Gifts of Stock Donors can use their own broker/agent or the diocesan agent to transfer and sell stock. If the stock has been held long-term (over one year), the donor does not have to pay capital gains tax and is allowed a tax deduction for the full value of the stock. However, the stock must first be transferred to the school before being liquidated.
Gifts of Property Families or individuals can make gifts of real estate or personal property. This can be in the form of a house or land.
Gifts of Annuity, Remainder Trust, Will or Bequest There are different ways to support St. Francis Xavier School both today and in the years to come via Planned Giving. Depending on your age, a Planned Gift may also be able to provide you with significant income today in exchange for your future gift to the school.
Corporate GivingFor some donors, a gift from their company or corporation will provide better tax benefits. To explore this option of giving, please contact your financial advisor. Matching GiftsSome corporations and firms offer Matching Gift funds for their employees and/or their retirees not-for-profit donations. Because St. Francis Xavier School qualifies as a not-for-profit, you may be able to double or in some cases triple your gift the “Our Faith, Our Future… Share Your Gift” Campaign. Check with your Human Resources office to find out if your company has a Matching Gift Program and if your gift to St. Francis Xavier School’s Foundation qualifies. Click here to see learn more about Matching Gifts.
IRA GivingThe Pension Protection Act of 2006 permits individuals 70.5 or older to rollover up to $100,000 from an individual retirement account (IRA) directly to a qualifying charity without recognizing the assets transferred to the qualifying charity as income. Retroactive to distributions made from IRAs in taxable years beginning after December 31, 2005. This provision is time-limited; it will not apply to any distribution made in taxable years beginning after December 31, 2007. An individual may exclude up to $100,000 from his/her gross income for each tax year for qualified charitable distributions from an IRA. For general information on IRA giving, please contact the school Development Office.
